Is your fear running rampant? The media and their ability to sensationalize the negative is creating a dark cloud over most people. I spoke to a dear friend today who is thinking of letting her license go.
Are you thinking of letting your license go?
How long did it take you to get it?
How much work have you put into your Real Estate Business?
Are you going to let the lag in business win?
I just don't want to see this happening to good agents. We can listen to the media to the point that we could all curl up and not show our faces to the sunlight but what good does that do? That guarantees failure.

I have to agree with George. If you love it then stick with it.
When the clouds clear and you're still there with your ball rolling...you will come back stronger than ever.

Rain And Tears Mix At Tribute Renaming Sag Harbor’s Veterans Memorial Bridge
Aaron Boyd
Sag Harbor - Sag Harbor residents stood solemnly through the stormy morning of Saturday, Nov. 15, rain indecipherable from tears on their faces, as local, county and state officials dedicated the bridge that spans the cove and is gateway to the their hometown as the Lance Corporal Jordan C. Haerter Veterans Memorial Bridge

One of the most difficult things to do in this market is to figure out where prices (values) are.
Seeing median prices fall to 2005 levels doesn’t necessarily mean that properties should be selling for 2005 prices, although it’s clear that buyers would like to see that, if not 2004 or 2003 values.
So, Paulson buys this house in 2006 for $12.75M and has it offered for $1.02 above that price. The estate areas always hold their values better than other areas, so it makes sens for an offering price…let’s see where it sells…

Paulson Southampton House

Paulson bought the home for $12.75 million in 2006 so when he put it on the market in April he priced it at $19.5 million, anticipating a tidy profit. No takers so in late August he dropped the price to $16.9 million. In October he finally got a nibble but he had a buyer with a signed contract walk away from the deal. Paulson really needs to unload this puppy so now it is down to $13.9 million which means he resigned himself to not making a huge profit on the sale.

Two little "Life Is Too Short" aphorisms struck me this week from reading and talking with people. All our days are numbered. We need to be the best in our relationships. We need to be our best in service to others. Think about real estate, lending, staging, many of the housing related jobs. All about customer service. We provide service to our clients. We serve our co-workers, partners, friends and family. But these two phrases really stuck with me because if you were to die tomorrow doing these two, you would be hitting on all cylinders I think. You would be at the epitome of working in life with a Servant's Heart.

The first phrase is
WHATEVER YOU WANT.
It usually is associated with the restaurant business to fix the entree that wasn't cooked to your liking or running back and getting you another glass of cold water from the kitchen, or a condiment you requested like some ground pepper or such. But think in all our levels of service to ANYONE you serve. Some mothers in families around the table at Thanksgiving act like this when all the guests arrive around the holiday dinner table. So keep in mind that whatever you want to others in being generous to them.
The second phrase is
I WOULDN'T MISS IT FOR THE WORLD.
You might think this relates to a big wedding invitation, an invite to a party, or a fun family reunion in Hawaii. But what it mainly means is that YOU are so important to someone in their life they put you ahead of everything else on their schedule. It is such a great feeling when someone treats you this way. Once again, an extreme act of generosity not with food or money, but with something even more precious to all of us, our time. Afterall, our time is our life. There is an expression that you like someone who checks their calendar and makes time for you but you cherish someone who doesn't even have a calendar for you.
Try to integrate these two phrases of the highest form of service, the highest standards of generosity, into your life. And be acutely aware when those VERY rare persons in your life treat you this way. For afterall, the greatest among us are the ones that serve the very best.
Today I received a call from a salesperson from California who wanted to sell me the latest and greatest real estate lead system. She started off the call with, “Maureen, are you still selling...
